LINEA trial longitudinal in-depth interview data with adolescent girls and men
A set of anonymised, longitudinal in-depth interview transcripts from 53 participants: 27 in-school adolescent girls aged 13-15 years and 26 men aged 23-50 years working as motorcycle taxi drivers. Interviewees gave informed consent to participate in the Learning Initiative on Norms, Exploitation and Abuse (LINEA) trial (2023-2026), which evaluated a radio drama and curricula aimed at preventing age-disparate transactional sex (ADTS) in Mwanza region, Tanzania. In-depth interviews were conducted at three timepoints, corresponding to pre-implementation, post-implementation and a one-year follow-up. The interviews contain information on: experiences, attitudes and impacts of the curricula and radio drama, sexual relationships, attitudes towards ADTS, and goals and aspirations.
Additional Information
Researchers seeking access to anonymised data must submit an application outlining the research purpose, ethics approval obtained, and requested transcripts. Applications are reviewed by the LINEA study team and approved, where appropriate, by the LINEA Principal Investigators, Ana Maria Buller (LSHTM) and Joyce Wamoyi (National Institute of Medical Research, Tanzania). Approved applicants will be required to sign an LSHTM Data Transfer Agreement before data is provided.
