The aim of the study was to identify practices that may contribute to the contamination of foods consumed by children aged 6–24 months in the Polana Caniço region of Maputo, Mozambique. The objectives were to: 1) characterise behaviours related to child food, including preparation, cooking, feeding, storage, and reheating, 2) identify critical control points based on observed practices, and 3) develop food flow diagrams of the preparation, storage and feeding of the main foods consumed by children aged 6–24 months. This dataset contains information on food preparation practices recorded within this community.
