This dataset presents the five-year age-standardised relative survival rates up to the end of 2001 for adult patients (aged 15-99 years) diagnosed between 1991-1995 and 1996-1999 for cancers of the lung, breast (in women), colon and prostate in England & Wales. The methods for compiling this data are in the methods chapter of the Office for National Statistics publication, Cancer Survival Trends (Series SMPS No. 61).

This metadata record was first published in LSHTM Research Online as record 13126 on 17th October 2011. It was transferred to the LSHTM data repository on 8th Sept 2016. A new description and updated URLs was added on this date.
