Replication Data for: Near complete genomes of eight human astroviruses recovered from diarrheal stool samples of hospitalized children in coastal Kenya in 2019
This is a replication dataset for the publication: "Near complete genomes of eight human astroviruses recovered from diarrheal stool samples of hospitalized children in coastal Kenya in 2019. The dataset is part of long-term surveillance of enteric viruses associated with diarrhea among children under 13 years admitted to the KCH study. This dataset contains results of samples positive for human astrovirus by real-time PCR for the period 13th April 2019-23th July 2019. Aside from the samples tested and results of the tests, it also contains the patients’ sociodemographic characteristic, cycle threshold and symptoms (diarrhoea and Vomiting). The dataset is used to generate new HAstVs genome sequences from RT-PCR positive samples collected from children hospitalized with diarrhea in Kilifi Kenya. The raw sequence data were deposited in the Sequence Read Archive (SRA) under BioProject accession number PRJNA692787 and BioSample accession numbers SAMN17370496 to SAMN17370503. The genome sequences generated here were deposited in GenBank under accession numbers MW485038 to MW485045.
