This dataset comprises individual-level data from 699 participants in the POPVAC A and POPVAC C randomised controlled trials. POPVAC A was conducted among schoolchildren from Koome islands, Uganda (a schistosomiasis-endemic setting). POPVAC C was undertaken in Entebbe municipality among participants of the Entebbe Mother and Baby Study (EMaBS) cohort. Variables include data on socio-demographic characteristics, S. mansoni infection, and oral typhoid vaccine-specific plasma and copro-antibody responses.
Additional Information
To access the data, requests must be made to the POPVAC trial PI (Professor Alison Elliott) or to Dr Gyaviira Nkurunungi. The request will be reviewed by them together with the POPVAC investigator team. The request will be reviewed based on scientific value and to ensure there is no overlap with existing work. If the request is approved, before data is shared, ethics approval will need to be obtained in your host institution and a Data Transfer Agreement with the MRC/UVRI and LSHTM Uganda Research Unit must be completed.
