The genomic diversity of Plasmodium vivax can provide insights into population structure, signals of positive selection and drug resistance-associated loci. We sequenced P. vivax DNA originating from travellers returning to UK who were diagnosed with vivax malaria. Parasite DNA was processed from blood samples stored in the Public Health England (PHE) Malaria Reference Laboratory (MRL) at the LSHTM. Additional non-travellers samples were sequenced from Colombia and Brazil.
