Description
This is a replication dataset for the manuscript titled: "The impact of 10-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine on the incidence of admissions to hospital with hypoxaemic and non-hypoxaemic pneumonia in Kenyan children." The Kilifi Health and Demographic Surveillance System (KHDSS) operates within Kilifi County, Kenya. Household surveys record births, deaths and migration events 4-6 monthly. PCV10 was introduced into the Kenyan immunisation programme in 2011. Demographic and hospital admission surveillance data, including pneumonia, have been prospectively collected in Kilifi, Kenya since 2002. This study used population demographic and hospital admission data to estimate the impact of PCV10 introduction on hypoxaemic and non-hypoxaemic pneumonia in KHDSS-resident children aged 2-59 months. Data were available from May 2002 to December 2019. The available data are de-identified individual-level Kilifi County Hospital admission records following all-cause admissions (including pneumonia admissions) of children aged 2-59 months.
