A set of code lists were used in the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) Aurum or Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) Admitted Patient Care (APC) to identify markers of health-seeking behaviour and healthcare access. These markers were then adjusted for in a vaccine effectiveness study to quantify and account for potential confounding.
