Linkage disequilibrium (LD) analysis of all high frequency (>5%) SNPs in all 15 merozoite genes, except eba181 due to limited SNP data. The analysis was performed by conducting all possible pair-wise comparisons between all the SNPs across 14 merozoite genes using a pair-wise correlation analysis and a Bonferroni correction for multiple comparisons. The red boxes represent significant correlations between SNPs and thus SNPs in LD, orange represents correlations between SNPs that are not significant, white indicates the SNPs that are not correlated and therefore they are not in LD and grey represents cases where the SNP data is missing in one or both of the paired SNPs.
