Data on the interstate trade of cereals in India (2011-12), modelled using a food supply and demand balance model to estimate volumes of trade and a linear programming model that minimizes the cost of transportation to estimate the direction of trade flows. Trade matrices and model input data available (distance between states, and supply and demand estimates). Data is available for seven cereals; rice, wheat, maize, sorghum (jowar), bajra, ragi and small millets. We include the trade of rice and wheat through the Public Distribution System (PDS), and non-PDS cereal trade.
