This dataset contains data from a cross-sectional study conducted among school-going adolescents with hearing impairment in Kampala District, Uganda, aimed at determining the prevalence of depression and associated factors. Data were collected using interviewer-administered questionnaires adapted into Ugandan Sign Language, including the MINI-KID diagnostic tool. The dataset includes a CSV file with participant-level data and a codebook describing all variables and their coding. Key variables include demographic characteristics, hearing impairment status, caregiver factors, and depression diagnosis. Missing values are coded as “NA.” The data should be interpreted within the context of adaptations made for sign language communication.
