Data collected as part of a multi-country government-led health systems intervention to improve hospital-based small and sick newborn care in 65 neonatal units in Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, and Tanzania. Data include neonatal unit-level health systems scores indicating the change in service readiness for small and sick newborn care over time.
