This dataset presents the results of a standard set of laboratory tests performed on an unselected population of children (<15 years old) who were admitted to Kilifi County Hospital in rural Kenya between January 2002 and September 2009. The KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme has operated routine surveillance in this hospital since 1989, ensuring all children are assessed by a clinician and their data is directly entered into a computarised database.
