Additional information

Description of data capture 66 microfinance groups were enrolled in the CRT, with half (33 groups, 544 women) randomised to receive the MAISHA intervention and the other half allocated as controls (33 groups, 505 women) waitlisted to receive the intervention on trial completion. The intervention comprised a ten-session social empowerment curriculum delivered over a 20-week period. The CRT involved two surveys of trial participants, the first conducted prior to randomisation (baseline), and the second 29 months later (follow-up). The surveys collected data on demographics, childhood experiences of abuse, health, attitudes and norms relating to gender and IPV, relationships, IPV experiences and responses, children, and respondents’ interactions with their communities. The intervention and trial are described in more detail in the trial protocol.
