The search strategies looked for information on 4 concepts: climate change related environmental exposures; health and wellbeing; Kenya; East African countries. The search strategy was compiled in the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science Core Collection databases and refined until the results retrieved reflected the scope of the project. A second draft search was compiled in the OvidSP Medline ALL database to make sure the search performed as expected in a health-focused database, incorporating subject headings as well as textwords. Once agreed, the draft searches were adapted for each database. 8 databases were searched on 12 and 13 August 2024. They were: OvidSP Medline ALL, OvidSP Embase Classic+Embase, OvidSP Global Health, OvidSP Econlit, EBSCOhost Africa-Wide Information, EBSCOhost GreenFILE, Web of Science Core Collection (containing Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, Arts & Humanities Citation Index, Conference Proceedings Citation Index Science, Conference Proceedings Citation Index Social Science & Humanities, Emerging Sources Citation Index), Scopus. Ongoing cybersecurity issues at the British Library has disrupted access to some databases. Therefore  the OvidSP Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA) database was searched on 17 February 2023. A grey literature search was also run in February 2023, incorporating various terms used in the database search, as well as browsing the websites of known institutions.
