The search strategy was compiled in the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science Core Collection databases and refined until the results retrieved reflected the scope of the project. A second draft search was compiled in the OvidSP Medline ALL database to make sure the search performed as expected in a health-focused database, incorporating subject headings as well as textwords. Once agreed, the draft searches were adapted for each database. 9 databases were searched between 17-20 February 2023. They were: OvidSP Medline ALL, OvidSP Embase Classic+Embase, OvidSP Global Health, OvidSP Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA), OvidSP Econlit, EBSCOhost Africa-Wide Information, EBSCOhost GreenFILE, Web of Science Core Collection (containing Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, Arts & Humanities Citation Index, Conference Proceedings Citation Index Science, Conference Proceedings Citation Index Social Science & Humanities, Emerging Sources Citation Index), Scopus.
