Dataset to reproduce the statistical analysis of the baseline prevalence of TB-Infection in the TREATS TB-infection incidence cohort. Each row represents a randomly selected adolescent or young adult of one of the 14 communities that were included in the cohort. TB infection was measured using the QuantiFERON Gold Plus assay. Apart from TB-infection at baseline, the data includes HIV-status, having a household contact on TB-treatment in the past or currently and demographic characteristics.

<collection_method>All household members of randomly selected households were enumerated and eligible adolescents and young adults were invited to a health facility (Zambia) or clinical research site (South Africa) for enrolment. After informed consent. password-protected tablets were used by trained research assistants to record information on socio-demographic data, TB/HIV history, known TB risk factors, and other characteristics via the administration of a structured questionnaire. Rapid HIV-testing was done at the research site and results recorded using the same tablet. Blood samples were taken for QFT-Plus testing. Results of the QuantiFERON Gold Plus assay were afterwards combined with the questionnaire data using the unique (barcoded) identifier of the participant.</collection_method>
