A data extraction template in Microsoft Excel was developed with input from members of the advisory group. Studies underwent data extraction by a single person, this data was validated using a cross-over method to identify missed information or disagreements, which were subsequently resolved by consensus or a third person. Data points include study characteristics, study methods and samples, antimicrobial susceptibility test results and antimicrobial resistance genes that have been reported by authors relevant to the food crop value chain.
