The data set consists of anonymised transcripts of interviews with six caregivers, three hygiene promoters and 72 children (within 36 friendship paired-interviews) 2019-04 completed London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine 10.17037/DATA.00001490 Dataset London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, London, United Kingdom Environmental Health Group Interview.FaceToFace 294 SK SQH-SQN ZYI restricted London, United Kingdom Humanitarian Innovation Fund Hidden Incentive Study Dataset Qualitative Data for: "Child handwashing in an internally displaced persons camp in Northern Iraq: A qualitative multi-method exploration of motivational drivers and other handwashing determinants" The six caregivers were randomly selected from eligible blocks in the IDP camp and audio recorded interviews took place in their tent. The three hygiene promoters were randomly selected from the group of six who were working in the camp and in mobile office in the camp. Hygiene promoters assisted with recruitment of child participants, identifying households with at least one child age 7-12. For each friendship-paired interview, one child was recruited and then asked to nominate a friend of a similar age to join the interview. Six gender/age groups were predefined and a total of six interviews interviews were completed for each group.
