Dataset and supporting documentation collected as part of the HIV combination prevention study, a cluster randomised trial investigating the feasibility of conducting HIV combination prevention interventions in fishing communities in Uganda. The dataset contains participant-provided responses including condom use, HIV prevention practices, and intervention take-up.
This pilot study was a cluster randomised trial, with four clusters (study communities) selected purposively. A nested cohort of participants was followed within each cluster. We conducted a baseline sero-survey among a population-based sample of adults, followed by two follow-up surveys.
Wakiso, Kampala
Data were compared between years for consistency, and corrected where possible (and set as missing where not).
Human population
Personally identifiable fields such as birth date, village name, interview dates were removed prior to submission. Additional fields that may serve as indirect identifiers were removed by Research Data Manager. Dataset has been resorted and ID number replaced.
The study was approved by the Uganda Virus Research Institute’s research and ethics committee, the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine ethics committees (Ethics Ref: 7574)
