Data for: "How much are households willing to invest in hand hygiene enabling technologies? A randomised pricing experiment in Lusaka, Zambia" – Data Codebook

Persistent identifier

10.17037/DATA.00005121

Description

Data collected as part of a two-phase voucher-based randomised pricing experiment to explore whether households in peri-urban Lusaka, Zambia were willing to invest in a hand washing facility (HWF). In Phase 1, 60 households each used two of three HWF designs for two weeks (20 households per combination) and were subsequently offered the opportunity to purchase one HWF using a randomly assigned discount voucher, alongside a 300 ZMW gift (~US$10). In Phase 2, the study quantified willingness to pay for this preferred option among 160 households using randomly assigned discount vouchers (20%, 40%, 60% or 80%) and a 50 ZMW gift (~US$2).

Households were recruited and data collected between 2 May and 10 July 2024 for Phase 1, and between 27 November to 20 December 2024 for Phase 2.
