Data collected part of a qualitative study to understand the role of social network approaches in influencing the adoption of public health interventions that target HIV and schistosomiasis services. Data consists of transcripts from 16 in-depth interviews and 4 focus group discussions (20 transcripts in total) that explore fishermen’s views on the factors that encourage and discourage take-up of health services and the role of social relationships in decision making.
In-depth interviews and focus groups were conducted in-person.
Malawi
In-depth interviews and focus groups were conducted in-person between 3 September and 30 October 2024.
Selected fishermen who participated in the FISH Trial.
Names and other personal identifiers have been removed from the transcript.

Redacted transcripts will be made available for use in ethically approved research. Researchers wishing to access the data should complete an application form, outlining a set of pre-specified questions that they wish to address using the data. This information will be reviewed to ensure the data is relevant and proposed use complies with the study ethical approvals. If permission is granted, the researcher will be subsequently asked to sign a Data Transfer Agreement.
