Interview transcripts for: "Socio-political and organizational influences on national infectious disease surveillance for refugees: A qualitative case study in Lebanon"

Description

A set of interview transcripts produced as part of a qualitative case study investigating socio-political and organizational influences on national infectious disease surveillance for refugees in Lebanon. Data was mainly collected through semi-structured key informant interviews. The total number of interviews conducted were 20, however due to the small sample size and impossibility of total anonymization, we share here 16 redacted interviews.

Methods

The dataset is comprised of 16 interview transcripts. Each interview was conducted face-to-face during a one meeting. Interview/Interviewee IDs were generated based upon the date of contact.

Privacy

Interview transcripts have been redacted to remove personal identifiers and confidential information. However, there remains the risk that interviewees will recognizable to each other and their stakeholders as a result of the small community in which they work and the knowledge that they express.

Data sharing

To protect participant confidentiality, a  controlled access arrangement has been adopted to allow transcripts to be made available for the purpose of research verification and reuse.

The ability to reuse the interview transcripts in new research is limited to studies that [1] are investigating/relate to surveillance activities within governmental health institutions and/or [2] are working with the same study population as the population in this study.

Access will be provided, subject to the researcher agreeing to the following conditions: they will not attempt to re-identify interviews, and they will not distribute the transcript to others.

Researchers wishing to access one or more transcripts are encouraged to apply for access by completing a Data request form at https://doi.org/10.17037/DATA.00003321. This will ensure that relevant information is provided in the correct format and sent to the repository staff and study team for processing.
