Description

Dataset containing information on demographic, socio-economic and health seeking behaviour for 600 patients who attended chemical sellers and health centres in Dangme West District, Ghana. It was collected using structured questionnaire between November 2012 and January 2013 as part of a case-control study to examine patient's treatment seeking practices.

Data analysis and preparation

All data were double entered into EpiData and analysed in Stata in an anonymised form.

Ethics

Ethical approval was obtained from the Ethics Review committee of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in Ghana. Permission was sought from the Dangme West District Health Management Team and the Health Facility Management Teams for this study. Informed consent was also sought from all study participants before their inclusion in the study.
